Once the sound file is in MP3 format you can burn the MP3 File to CD so you can listen to these messages in your car.

Before you begin, this is what you must have:

  1. Basic Real Media Player: Download the free basic player from http://www.real.com
  2. SUPER © (Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer):

There are now two main steps to a real media to mp3 conversion.

  1. Download the rm file
  2. Convert the rm file into mp3 format

Note: if you click on a real media link (e.g. audiofile.ram) you will be clicking on ram file that points to the actual sound file
which is an rm file. It is the rm file that you actually want (e.g. audiofile.rm). The (ram file is < 1kb) and the (rm files on this site are less than 10mb).

Just to give you a better clue to what a ram file consists of see the image below.
If you are confused just click here to skip down.

STEP 1: Downloading the rm file

Click on the audio link that you want to download. Real Media player should launch and start to play the file.
In Real Player, go to the File menu, Clip Properties, View Clip Info.

Notice the location of the ram file. Copy and paste this URL into Internet Explorer (or any other browser).

Before you hit Enter or Go, Change the .ram to .rm see example below....

Eg. http://www.ccwhittier.org/archives/audio/acts5_17-42.ram
change to:
Eg. http://www.ccwhittier.org/archives/audio/acts5_17-42.rm <---- .rm

As soon as you hit enter or go in your browser, the download should start and be placed into your Temporary Folder.

Your Temporary Folder can easily be found with Internet Explorer open. Go to Tools, Internet Options.
Click on Settings the View Internet Files. Search for the Real Audio files that you downloaded.
It is easier to find if you sort by Name or Type.

You can copy and paste these files to a more convenient location so it can be more easily found.
